Cookie policy

Last updated 3 October 2026.

A cookie is a small text file that a website puts on your device when you visit. Cookies let a site remember what you did, such as the fact that you have already dismissed a banner, and they let site owners understand how their pages are being used. Some are set by us and some are set by other companies whose services we use, such as Google.

We also use similar technologies such as pixels and local storage. For simplicity we call all of them cookies on this page.

We use Cookiebot to manage consent on this site. The first time you visit you are shown a banner listing the categories of cookie we use. Nothing other than strictly necessary cookies is set until you make a choice, and your choice is recorded so you are not asked again on every page.

Strictly necessary. These make the site work, for example by keeping your session stable, keeping the site secure and remembering your cookie choice. The site cannot function without them, so they do not require consent and cannot be switched off.

Preferences. These remember choices you have made so the site behaves the way you expect on your next visit.

Statistics. These help us understand how the site is used, which pages are read and where people leave. We use Google Analytics 4 for this. It tells us about patterns rather than about you personally.

Marketing. These let us measure whether our advertising works and show our advertising to people who have visited the site. We advertise through platforms including Google Ads and Meta. If you decline this category we still advertise, but your visit is not used to measure or target it. There is more detail in our privacy policy.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the cookie settings link on this page. Your new choice takes effect straight away and applies to future visits from the same browser.

Because your choice is stored in a cookie on the device you are using, you will need to set it again on a different browser or device, or if you clear your cookies.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Every major browser lets you do this, usually under privacy or security. Be aware that blocking all cookies, including the strictly necessary ones, will stop parts of this site working properly.

A full and current list of the cookies used on this site, what each one does and how long it lasts, is published below. It is generated automatically and updated when the site changes, so it always reflects what is actually in use.

We update this page when the cookies on the site change. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
